THE SAVAGES OF WIRRAMAI

Rarely does a theatre group manage to take complete ownership of a play without sacrificing at least some of the writer’s original intention. Under Kate Bookallil’s sensitive direction, Crying Chair Theatres talented cast managed to bring their own unique stamp to this story, while enhancing the vision of the playwright.  I cannot praise them highly enough.

Sandra Fairthorne - Playwright

THE SAVAGES OF WIRRAMAI

Wonderfully written & directed & flawlessly delivered by a very tight & talented cast.  I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this play.  The performance was a powerhouse of emotions that left me with goosebumps.  From the vile patriarchal father to the troubled Cassie, this dysfunctional family carries a dark secret which slowly comes to light throughout the story.  I found it gripping, confronting, sometimes quite funny and extremely sad.  A true ensemble performance which was so achingly honest that I must say, left me with a tear in my eye.  Outstanding!
