Crying Chair Theatre goes WILD!

March 2021

Emma & Mel have been lucky enough to be invited onboard the production of Wild Thing by Suzanne Hawley playing at Flight Path Theatre.  Emma is lighting up the stage & creating atmosphere as the light/sound operator, while Mel has been sorting things out & keeping everyone on their toes as the Stage Manager.  What an honour to be part of this incredible production & what a ride!

'The Hope Song' spreads messages of love, & support all over the world.

October 2020

After a successful season of 'The Hope Song' at Flight Path Theatre in 2019, it was evident to Director, Socratis Otto, that these stories needed a wider audience.  When the world went into lockdown as a result of COVID-19, Socratis saw the need for those struggling with their mental health to know there is hope.  He went on to create and produce a revised digital version of 'The Hope Song'.  To view the online production click here.

Meet the Director

March 2018

Kate Bookallil is Directing The Savages of Wirramai.

Kate studied a BA in Performance at the University of Western Sydney, graduating in productions of "As You Like It" (Dir. Anna Polska) and "Sisters" (Dir. Terence Crawford). In 2000 Kate formed Pellucid Productions and went on to produce and perform in plays all over Sydney, most notably, "Closer" by Patrick Marber and "Five Ways" by Erin Thomas. Kate has appeared in TV shows "Review with Miles Barlow", "Politically Incorrect Parenting", "The Let Down" and "Home and Away". Her short films include "Jack" (Joseph Bar) and "Life is a Movie" (David O'Brien). Since 2001, Kate has been teaching and directing adults and children for various drama schools and in 2013 co-founded Inner West Drama.

After her incredibly emotional performance as the family matriarch in our last production, we are extremely excited to have the beautifully talented Christine Greenough working with us again.

Christine is swapping the bright lights of the stage for the Director's chair and we can't wait to begin work!

The Savages take their final bow after a sold out run.

Such a privilege to have the writer, Sandra Fairthorne, join the cast and Director for the encore.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the show, the actors and Crying Chair Theatre.
